New Voices New Orleans
Introduction
New Voices New Orleans (NVNO) engages singers throughout the City’s public charter schools in dynamic performances that unlock creativity, embolden self-expression, and empower civic voice. Their unique approach to vocal music education prioritizes movement training and storytelling to develop singers’ literacy in music and command in performance. Through rehearsals, discussions, art-making, performances, and events, singers become members of intentional community and culture-bearers for the City of New Orleans.
THE PROCESS
Our research on NVNO’s position in New Orleans’ youth arts education landscape highlights its unique role in providing accessible, culturally relevant music education. NVNO’s integration with schools during regular hours sets it apart from competitors, yet challenges remain, particularly in brand awareness and financial sustainability due to reliance on specific funding sources.
THE OUTCOME
Our team created plans to broaden financial support, find school partners, expand online presence, and build visibility. We also updated and expanded on the branding and created marketing materials to support NVNO’s goals.
